As a follow-up to my virtual love letter to the best facial EVER, I thought I’d introduce you to some of my favorite Biologique Recherche products. As much as we’d all love to jet off to Paris for one of these famed treatments, it’s unfortunately not a reality for most of us. Luckily, thanks to the wonderful Mariam White of The Principle Brands, there are a handful of spas and clinics throughout Canada that not only provide the signature Biologique Recherche treatment experience, but also stock the brand’s incredible product line.
Founded over 40 years ago, Biologique Recherche has a unique and highly effective approach to skin care that has resulted in the brand’s much deserved cult status. Rooted in a desire to create products that would put everything else on the market to shame, the line functions like a research and development laboratory whose sole mission is creating skin care perfection. The founders of the line combined their training and knowledge in the fields of biology, clinical medicine and physiotherapy to formulate products utilizing pure, concentrated and raw ingredients.
With such a strong commitment to providing highly specialized and effective treatments, it’s no surprise that Biologique Recherche also produces some of the most amazing products to use at home. While their famed P50 lotion is one of the most recognizable products, there are so many other amazing items that make up the Biologique Recherche universe. Just like with the facial treatments, everyone’s skin care routine is completely customized to their skin’s very specific needs. However, I wanted to introduce you to some of the items that have made a big difference for my skin. Just like with a Biologique Recherche facial, their skin care regime is broken up into the Initialization and Treatment Stages.
Initialization Stage
The skin is cleansed and prepared to restore its natural regenerative properties.
Lait U: Not only a gentle yet highly effective cleanser, Lait U also does a wonderful job at removing makeup. It’s got an almost cream-like milky texture and is non-oily so it feels incredibly smooth and relaxing when using. The first step of any good skin care regime is a proper cleanser and Lait U is the perfect first step to aching clean healthy skin. With natural botanicals, it’s ideal for all skin types.
Lotion P50T: P50 is considered to be one of the holy grails of the skin care world and it’s a very deserved accolade. This product balances and exfoliates the skin leaving it healthy and glowing. I’m currently using the P50T which is the mildest form of this product and safe to use while breastfeeding. It’s also useful for all skin types while the other formulations are better suited to specific skin types. Honestly, I could easily dedicate an entire post to the glory that is P50. In fact, if you’d like, I’d be happy to! This, along with the Masque Vivant I’ll introduce you to shortly, are my hero products from the entire Biologique Recherche line.
Masque Vivant: Hands down, this is one of my favorite face masks that I have ever used. It’s also one of the most highly effective. Its unique ingredient list includes live yeast extracts which are packed with amino acids and nourishing Vitamin B. Not only does the Masque Vivant purify your skin, it also revitalizes and brightens your complexion. It’s a virtual facial in a tube and I personally use it multiple times a week. I notice an incredible difference in my complexion when I use this product regularly. This is one of my must have products from Biologqie Recherche that I can’t say enough good things about. However, like with all Biologique Recherche products, there are no fragrances or perfumes added. If I have a pimple, I’ll dab a little Masque Vivant on it and sleep with it overnight. Without fail, I’ll wake up to find the pimple gone.
Treatment Stage
The products applied during this stage are specifically designed to leave the complexion beautiful and radiant. The serums used in the treatment stage are some of the purest formulations by Bologique Recherche. Their only active ingredients are amino acids or short peptides and they contain the bare minimum of preservatives.
Crème Contour Yeux et Lèvres Biofixine: This ultra-luxe cream does double duty for both eyes and lips. It’s perfect for preventative anti-aging, as well as curbing existing signs of aging thanks to its antioxidant properties. It also revitalizes and restores the skin around the eyes and lips while plumping and toning. Basically, this is a miracle product that makes me look well rested and refreshed even with a teething baby who enjoys 2am wake-ups.
Serum A-Glyca: This is another wonderful anti-aging addition to your skin care regime. While it may seem early to address these concerns in your 20s and 30s, it’s actually the ideal time. Preventative skin care, much like preventative health care, is ideal for combating issues before they occur and help minimize them, if and when they do. This serum protects the proteins within the skin and helps bring radiance and firmness to your complexion. It also helps act against the process of glycation which negatively impacts the aging process.
Oligo-Protéines Marines: Serums are a wonderful addition to your skin care regime and this is one of my favorites. It’s recommended for those with stressed skin and those who are looking a little devitalized and dull. It stimulates the skin cells and helps brighten the complexion by energizing and reviving the skin’s natural functions.
