The other week I was invited backstage at Festival Mode & Design by Redken and Maybelline, the dynamic beauty duo behind the entire festival. I got an insider’s look into the hair and makeup looks that were being created for the shows and even got a chance to chat one-on-one with the Grace Lee, the lead artist for Maybelline, and Catherine Allard, the lead stylist for Redken. I’ve had the pleasure of chatting with Grace Lee before but this was the first time that I was able to witness her at work. She was a makeup rockstar, creating gorgeous looks and fielding questions all at the same time. Her tip for creating the perfect cat eye? Practice, practice, practice! Catherine Allard also gave me some great insider tips for creating runway ready hair. Always make sure to treat your hair with a thermal product like any of the Redken heat styling products to protect your hair from the heat of blowdryers, curling irons, and straighteners. I credit this tip for keeping my hair healthy even in light of my blowdry addiction.
