Sorry for the little break in posting darlings, I’ve been busy with my first weeks back to school and attempting to plan a wedding. I’ve jumped back into classes and while the poodle might be a little cranky about me being gone during the day, I’m loving being back in the academic arena. Before I worked in the fashion industry, I was studying international relations and I thought I wanted to be a human rights lawyer. After the first two years of my undergraduate studies, my path totally changed. I was hired as a sales girl at a popular Washington DC based boutique and shortly thereafter, began doing the buying for that location and helping to plan and buy for the upcoming Vegas outpost of the store. After my own The Devil Wears Prada experience (I’m talking working 13 days straight, sleeping with my phone next to my head, and twitching when it rang) I moved back to Philadelphia and had an amazing time working for Nicole Miller Philadelphia and Piazza Sempione. Even though I loved the fashion industry, I started to feel a tug for academia. I was ready to go back. Now, I’m studying history and plan on being a life-long academic. While I’m passionate about fashion, I couldn’t be happier that I spend my days up to my topknot in textbooks. I look forward to the day when I can be the most well-dressed professor in the History Department who has the latest issue of Vogue stashed in her bag, right next to her lecture notes.
