I have a tendency of approaching decorating my home in the same way I expand my wardrobe, I invest in high quality classic pieces that will stand the test of time. While Darling Husband might wish for a little more dark wood and leather in our home (if he could live in a space that was a cross between Don Draper’s office and Downton Abbey, he’d be a happy man), it is a mix of contemporary pieces and cherished family heirlooms. I especially love pieces with a bit of history and I was recently introduced to a wonderful design shop where their pieces fit this bill.
I’ve had the pleasure of partnering with Artemano to pick some of my favorite items from their Montreal location to create a capsule collection. Known for fine exotic wood pieces and commitment to sustainability, Artemano offers a taste of India, Indonesia, and Thailand to their clients. With pieces made from recycled and reclaimed wood, the pieces evoke a feeling of nature and serenity. One of my favorite aspects of the collections is that they are rooted in sustainability and encouraging and supporting the communities and artisans where the wood is sourced from.
