It’s no secret, I’m rather obsessed with the French skin care line Biologique Recherche. I’ve written many a glowing article praising the efficacy of their incredible products. Having used the line for almost 15 years, it’s long been a wish of mine to visit the Ambassade Biologique Recherche Paris for one of the brand’s famous facial treatments. Needless to say, when my friends at Living Beauty Inc. (a.k.a. the reason we have Biologique Recherche in Canada) connected me with the super lovely team at the Ambassade to arrange a facial I was beyond excited. To say that my treatment was a highlight of my April trip to Paris is a bit of an understatement.
Opened in 1992 in one of the few remaining historic townhomes on the Champs Élysées, the Ambassade Biologique Recherche Paris is a temple to glowing skin. Housing both the treatment institute for clients and the Josette Allouche Academy, where providers are trained in the vast and highly customizable Biologique Recherche family of products and the specialized techniques that are utilized for their application, the Ambassade is tucked away from the hustle of the bustling Avenue. I was warmly greeted upon my arrival and welcomed into the gorgeous reception space on the first floor. Since I was a few minutes early, I was invited to relax with a cool glass of water while I waited for the provider I would be seeing. Only a few moments later, I was again warmly welcomed by Alisson in whose incredibly talented hands my skin and I would be in for my treatment.
Alisson showed my to the gorgeous treatment room, complete with a full private bathroom, where my facial would take place. An incredibly tranquil space, it had hints of the brands signature gold and deep blue branding throughout. After getting tucked into a supremely comfortable and plush treatment bed, Alisson began the treatment. Biologique Recherche is known for being incredibly specific and intentional in how and when products are used. Their pure and highly concentrated ingredients allow the products to address very particular skin needs and issues. To determine what my skin’s specific needs were in that very moment, Alisson performed a thourough skin analysis that combined a visual examination with a technological assessment. This allowed for an incredibly precise understanding of my skin and allowed Alisson to craft the perfect treatment for my Skin Instant. It was no surprise that after transatlantic travel, recirculated airplane air, and wearing a mask during my flight, my skin was in desperate need of some major TLC.
Following this Assessment Stage of the treatment, Alisson moved on to the Initialization Stage. This began with one of my favourite parts of a signature Biologique Recherche facial, the opening massage. Utilizing precise massage techniques and movements, the lymphatic system is drained while the face is cleansed and the body and mind totally relaxed. After, P50 was applied followed by a custom mask. Alisson blended Soin Restructurant et Lissant N 1 and N 2 and applied the famous Biologique Recherche Cold Mask on top of this combination. The Cold Mask is packed with Marine nutrients and paired with the cocktail of N1 and N2 underneath, my skin was left totally nourished, toned, drained, and moisturized. Once the mask set, Alisson utilized cryosticks to massage, drain and sculpt my face while the full benefits of the mask settled into my skin.
Once the mask was removed, the final step of this totally decadent facial is the Treatment Stage. It is during this final step that the products with the highest concentration of active ingredients are applied utilizing Biologique Recherche’s unique methodology. This final cocktail of serums coupled with the rest of the products Alisson used during my treatment left my skin looking as if I was glowing from within. Thanks to all of the massage and draining that occurred during the treatment as well, my jaw line was much more defined and my face had a more sculpted appearance. If I didn’t know about all of the research and development that goes into formulating Biologique Recherche’s incredible line of products, I would have thought my skin looked as good as it did thanks to magic. In fact, as the day went by my skin looked better and better. It looked so good that when I went out for dinner that evening, I did so without a stitch of makeup on!
There are not enough effusive words to describe what an incredible experience I had at the Ambassade Biologique Recherche Paris. I’ll be honest, I had incredibly high expectations for the experience after building it up in my head for so long. And truth be told, they were all met and then some. From the gorgeous setting and gracious team to Alisson’s exceptional treatment and my resulting skin, it was an incredible experience.
If you’re a skin care junky like me and traveling to Paris, I can’t recommend a trip tp the Ambassade enough. Not only do they offer facials but also body and hair treatments utilizing the wealth of Biologique Recherche products available to address countless issues and concerns. I know I’ll be booking a hair treatment in addition to another facial with Alisson during my next Paris trip!
