This past weekend I spent in Washington DC visiting with two of my best friends, one of whom just had the sweetest baby girl. Let me just say, this little one hit the genetic jackpot. She’s pretty much destined to win a Nobel prize with parents like hers. We celebrated her arrival with an owl themed baby shower and this indulgent aunty arrived with quite a few little outfits and a Missoni teddy bear in tow. Because really, every girl needs a little Missoni in her life. I also had the pleasure and honour of speaking to the lovely ladies of Phi Sigma Sigma at American University about proper dressing for the workplace. We had a fun styling session with examples of right and oh so wrong outfit options, I shared my top tricks and tips, and I even showed them how to create the perfect jumbo bun with my trusty sock donut. It was so fun to be invited as an alumna to speak to the latest crop of women to be inducted into the sorority that gave me half my bridal party. Of course a trip to DC isn’t complete with out wandering about the city, taking in the gorgeous and historic architecture, and spending time in one of the many amazing museums the city has to offer. In my case, I opted for a little bit of a research trip to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. All in all, another perfect weekend in one of my favorite cities.
