It’s no secret that I love fine jewelry. With a recent milestone birthday, I knew I wanted to mark this entry into a new decade with a special new piece. In fact, my beloved Maidor is also celebrating the very same milestone birthday. We both turned 40 this year! Needless to say, a joint birthday celebration in the form of something sparkling was absolutely in order!

It marks milestones and memories and with this in mind, I decided that this was truly the perfect year to finally treat myself to a diamond tennis necklace. I was also recently given some family pieces by my mother that while beautiful, just weren’t my style. With these materials as well as my own half-tennis necklace that I purchased for myself from Maidor at my disposal, I worked with their talented team to design a stunning tennis necklace that would repurpose the gold and diamonds in those pieces. I ended up choosing a sweet take on the classic tennis necklace with a heart shaped setting for the stones. From the custom 3D modeling to the casting and eventual setting of the diamonds, I loved that Maidor kept me involved and informed during the entirety of the creation of my necklace. They made the entire experience so special and seamless.
I knew this was going to be a special piece, but nothing prepared me for how incredible the final piece is. Not only does it mark 40 amazing years of my life, it also honors some of the amazing women in my family. The materials that were used came from pieces that belonged and were worn by my mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and myself. I find it so special that I get to carry them with me whenever I wear this necklace. And one day, when it’s appropriate, madam will get to wear a very special piece of jewelry that honors four generations of women in her family.
