Menswear

Last night I attended Philadelphia Style Magazine’s May/June issue launch party featuring the actress Kat Dennings. I decided to go a totally different route then my usual cocktail dress look that I would normally sport for this type of event. Instead, inspired by the current Bloggers Do It Better challenge (check out the rest of the fab participants here, I went for a menswear inspired look. I had a great night catching up with friends and chatting with two of Philadelphias major bloggers, the street style photographer Big Rube of Street Gazing and the man behind Philadelphia’s social diary, gossip, and other fun tidbits HughE Dillion of Philly Chit Chat. You can check out Hughe’s recap of this great event here, where he featured some friends and I.

After the party we headed over to one of my favorite restaurants in Rittenhouse Square, Parc, for some post-party cocktails and late dinner.

With Hacina Saadi and culinary wunderkind, chef Jason Cichonski
My own attempt at catching street style, Martin has gorgeous style and is always impeccably dressed. He’s heading off to LA in a few weeks where he will undoubtably take the city by storm.

Oh I love this look! The pants and the boots are my favourite, I am always a little meh about shiny pants but those look great. What a fabulous outfit!

Thank you! I’m usually very anti shiny pants but those actually end up looking really great when paired with the right pieces.

I know, totally not my usual look! You were missed at the Style party, It was strange not to see any Nicole Miller girls there! Great time as always at their events.
Only you can make a menswear-inspired look actually seem ‘hot’…lol! Congrats on attending such a fun-sounding evening! Love the belt!

What an amazing bow tie! Are those skulls and crossbones? Very cool.
Thanks Chloe! Yep, little skulls and crossbones all over it!

Thank so much Laura!
I’m so stoked that you wore this to the event. I bet you were the hottest one there! This is a great spin on the ‘preppy look’. Loves it!

Thank you! Totally not my usual style for this type of event but I can’t tell you how many compliments I got on it. Such a stand out next to all of the typical cocktail dresses that people were wearing.
