The Vest

Hello darlings, I’d like to officially introduce you to one of the more over the top items in my closet. Vest, meet my darling readers. This was one of the items that I scooped up the last time I was in New York and I’ve been waiting to debut it here on WestmountFashionista since it first came home in Milly’s signature pink and gold shopping bag. It’s so delightfully over the top and makes me feel a tiny bit like Rachel Zoe. Ok, forget tiny bit…actually it’s a whole lot of Zoe. Darling Fiance HATES the vest, possibly even more then he hates the gray booties. Nonetheless, I positively adore it and find it to be a wonderful statement piece. When wearing an item like this, I recommend that you keep the rest of the outfit basic to maximize the impact of the piece and to keep your look from appearing too overdone or busy. But perhaps the best statement of all came from the Canada Border Services agent when Jess brought this thing back from the States: “You’re willingly wearing that?”
