Peacoat
It was recently brought to my attention by one of you darlings that my outfit was far from appropriate for the current Canadian climate. To this I say, I agree. In fact, I think my current cold is directly related to my coat-less outdoor outfit photos. Let me also say, Darling Fiance is feeling rather vindicated right now. Pretty much since the snow started, he’s been telling me to put a coat on when taking outdoor photos. My arguments have alternated between “who wants to see outfit photos of the same handful of coats?!” and “the coat defeats the outfit!” As much as I stand firm behind my arguments, I have to admit this cold is reaaallllly not fun. I feel like I’m about to float away from all the green tea I’ve been guzzeling. As for the Canadian wonder drug Buckleys, all I can say is ickypoo! That being said, here’s an infinitely more appropriate set of photos showing off yet another one of my purchases from Lyla. Like the pants from the Betty Draper post, this RED Valentino peacoat has my favorite signature bow on it. The bow detail really brings a wonderful feminine touch to the classic peacoat.
Peacoat: RED Valentino
Jeans: J Brand
Shoes: BCBG
Sunglasses: Forever 21

Aww hope you feel better soon sweetie,i’m also unwell with a cold and it sucks! I have to say i am in love with your coat, its super chic and adore the bow detail at the back. Its looks gorgeous with the flared jeans. Remember PUT A COAT ON! Hehe
Take care honey and get well soon

Oh no, I hope you feel better as well! It really does suck to feel under the weather like this. I will be wearing my coat for sure! xx
JESSICA…IT’S CANADA! IT’S WINTER IN CANADA! PUT ON A COAT OR ELSE!!! Phew..got that out of my system (plus did my family duty!). Now, that admonition being said, of course you need to put on a coat; but instead of fighting the elements, consider the inclement weather an OPPORTUNITY to pick up some stylish new outer garments! Us readers can always use awesome ideas like yours of how to look good WHILE WEARING A COAT!!!! About your cold, a) hope you feel better soon and b) want my ginger tea recipe? I promise & guarantee it’ll kick that cold’s butt big time!! xox
haha thank you aunty Eugenia! I agree, I really do need to up the outwear section of my wardrobe and this is the catalyst I needed to start shopping away. I’ve been eyeing some great new pieces for sure.
I’m afraid fiances can be right sometimes, especially when it concerns appropriate clothing for the Canadian winter. And the coat is adorable and functional. Glad you gave in. And feel better!!
Silly fiances! I do have to admit, he really was right on this one. Thankfully there are cute options like this coat out there.
Oh.. i’m sorry for you, you really catch some cold? Anyway you always look amazing and you’re coat is super cute et ca ne parrait pas du tout que tu as eu un rhume. Anyway i admit.. coat broke the look.. if you want to get the look and don’t catch cold you have to stay inside in Canada
Laurie,
Jessica ne m’écoute jamais! Ça fait déjà une semaine qu’elle tousse! Keep telling her to listen and put a coat on!
En passant, c’est à peu près temps qu’elle se familiarise avec le français écrit. Je t’encourage à continuer à lui répondre en français… I’ll translate as needed

first of all for your darling fiance…“JESS! IT’S CANADA. IT’S WINTER IN CANADA. PUT ON A COAT!”
*Love all the simple red brick over at Lucien L’allier metro
second: LOOOVE the bow on the coat, much like you, I’m a serious sucker for bows!
third: OK clearly I love your blog and all your fab photos but I think your borderline crazy my dear friend! maybe a suggestion to beat the winter blues of photo taking…
What about that fantastic photo where your holding your coat back revealing a great outfit, maybe fiance will let you snap away outside if you’ve got your back covered? OR just put a coat on & head over to snap some pics in the vacant corridors of our underground city? I’d love to see you looking great next to one of the metro buddies playing a guitar
hahahah thank you Shanna! The fiance is feeling sooooo vindicated right now! Great idea about shooting in the metro, I think we’ll be taking a trip over to Lucien L’allier very soon!

Thanks so much Irina!
If I could have one peacoat, yours would be it, shearling, double buttons and a bow!
I’m with you on the choice Paolita, bows are one of the quickest ways to get me into a coat!
Are you wearing your coat?
Yes daddy!
[...] I’ve had it for years but I’ve only just started to wear it again after picking up the RED Valentino version from Layla. While it’s actually a men’s coat, the shape is great and the stiff collar stays up [...]
