Neon and Neutrals

Neon and Neutrals, another trend that I loved on the runway and on others but was a little weary to try myself until it became the most recent Bloggers Do It Better challenge (check out the rest of the bloggers participating here). Summer might be officially here, but I’m still pretty pale and most likely, save for a few sunburns if I’m too lazy to lather the sunscreen on, will remain just as pasty. I’m “that” girl at the beach or the pool who’s rubbing in the SPF 65 and coating her face in sunscreen intended for women post facelift for maximum coverage and protection. Coupled with my camping out under any cabana/umbrella/awning that’s free, my oversized glasses that would make Jackie O proud, and large hat I’m not one to get a tan unless its being sprayed on me by a salon technician. That rant aside, I was pretty surprised at how much I ended up liking this colour combination on myself. I’ve been loving injecting neons in to my wardrobe via my nail polish choices but with the concept of pairing those same neon colours with neutrals gives you a great way to look runway chic without looking like a silly teenager who went on an American Apparel shopping spree. Now lets all collectively coo over how cute Nikki is.
